If you want to do it

First, to
the shore then
close your eyes
feel the water and
sand between your toes,
your foot pushing the world
away, pushing it back into the sea,
another blind step, ankle deep, the chill
through your bones, another step, submerged
knees, another step waist, another step chest, a
breath frozen in a lung and exhale fog, see it, before
submerging your neck, your face, let the water cascade over
your lower lip, let it fill your mouth, spilling into your throat, note
the silence of it. How hard it was, another step, keep walking. Drown.
